You can also start Internet Explorer (or your default browser, if not IE)
by clicking a web hyperlink in an email address or document. In some
programs, such as Microsoft Word, you have to hold down the Ctrl key
as you click on a hyperlink to open it in a browser.
When Internet Explorer opens, it takes you to your home page. Your
home page is the page that is presented every time you open the browser.
By default, the browser's home page is msn.com . You can set your home
page to the site of your choice, however. If you use a particular site all the
time, you can set that site as your home page. This makes browsing more
efficient.

Step by Step
Changing Your Internet Explorer Home Page
To change your Internet Explorer home page, follow these steps:
Open Internet Explorer using one of the methods listed previously.
Type the address of the website you want to set as your home page into the address bar and allow it to load.
Click the Tools button (the one that looks like a gear wheel in the upper-right corner of the browser screen). A
menu appears.
