house are smallish but very quiet. They come with cable TV, mosquito nets and sparkling
bathrooms, and are tucked well back from the road with a lovely courtyard for hammocks
at the rear. Lower rates are for rooms with fans, higher rates for air-con.

comfortable hostelry. It has excellent beds and sizeable rooms that include fancy reading
lights and minifridges, plus hairdryers and baths in the bathrooms. One of the suites has a
Jacuzzi. The indoor pool and fine restaurant-bar attract upscale guests and businesspeople,
although in reality this is not significantly better than several city hotels that charge about
S100 less.

vice. The rooms have good-sized bathrooms, minibars and indeed all the usual amenities.
Good value.

best midrange bargains, the canary-yellow Europa is a homey hotel and ticks all the boxes
you could expect for the price range: large neat rooms, air-con, minifridges, a good res-
taurant and laundry service.

imals, such as chicharrón de lagarto (fried alligator) and sopa de tortuga (turtle soup).
