Getting There & Away
Air

has two flights daily to and from Lima, leaving the cap-
ital at the very inconvenient times of 5am and 8:30pm and returning from Pucallpa at
alternative similarly priced direct flight leaving at 7am and 5pm and returning at 11:50am
and 7:50pm. The morning flight from Lima usefully continues to Iquitos.
Other towns and settlements (including Atalaya - the Atalaya on the Río Ucayali,
Contamaná, Tarapoto and Yurimaguas) are served by small local airlines using light air-
craft; some have offices at the airport: ask. Luggage on these flights is limited to 10kg per
passenger.
Boat
Pucallpa's port moves depending on water levels. During high water (January to April)
boats moor at the dock abutting Parque San Martín in central Pucallpa itself.
As water levels drop, the port falls back to several spots along the banks, including

and eventually to about 3km northeast of the town cen-
ter, reached by
mototaxi
