1051) change cash and traveler's checks and have ATMs. The Serpost outlet (San Martín
909) is north of the cathedral.

Getting There & Around

Caraz is often the final destination for buses heading from the coast to the Callejón de
Huaylas. Most coastal buses go via Huaraz.

LONG DISTANCE

Transportes Rodríguez Offline map ( 79-4375; Villar 411) has Lima buses at 8:30pm
with economic and semi-cama services on alternate days. Cooperativa Ancash
Offline map ( 39-1126; Cordova 139) has services to Lima at 11am, 7pm and 8pm.
Movil Tours ( 39-1184; Pasaje Santa Teresita 334) has the most comfortable Lima
bus-cama at 9pm as well as good economic services at 7:30am, 1pm and 8:30pm. It also
has a bus-cama Chimbote bus via Casma at 8:10pm.
Yungay Express Offline map ( 39-1492; Villar 316) has one bus a day to Chimbote
via the Cañón del Pato leaving at 9am and two via Casma at noon and 8pm.

CARAZ AREA

Minibuses to Yungay, Carhuaz and Huaraz leave from the station on the Carretera Central.
