The 20 rooms are named after local fauna and are split between less sleek standards and
colorful and bright executives. For Tumbes, it's a step up and the price is right.

Hotel Feijoo $$

without air-con S90/70; ) The Feijoo, just a block from Plaza de Armas, is one of
the cheapest spots for icy air-con, which represents more value than normal in the Tumbes
heat. Modern rooms and bathrooms are extra spacious, adding even more value, and look
out onto a bright, open-air atrium. There are no front desk smiles that come along with the
rooms, but cost-benefit here is palpable.

Hotel Costa del Sol $$$

) This is the most upscale hotel in town, providing a decent restaurant, a pleasant
bar and garden, and a Jacuzzi, swimming pool with a children's section, small casino and
gym. The comfortable rooms are decked out in warm, masculine colors and have been up-
graded since Ramada grabbed the wheel in 2012 - each features all the ubiquitous mod
cons. A cold cocktail is included - and is most welcome.

BUSINESS HOTEL

Hostal Roma $

tate, the Roma is an upper-level budget option and provides guests with clean, comfort-
able rooms with hot shower, high-octane fan, phone and cable TV. Accustomed to dealing
with foreigners, it extends a warm welcome, but can be noisy - there's even an in-house
intercom system that's switched on at all hours.
Tilted sinks mean your toiletries don't stay still, but the fact remains that it sits in an
ideal price range - above potential stolen laptop, below second mortgage.

Hotel Rizzo Plaza $$

) Just steps from the Plaza de Armas, the ritzy Rizzo gets solid reviews from travelers.
With a business center, it leans vaguely suit-and-tie-like, with a professional staff,
smallish bathrooms and way too many faux plants.
