SANDBOARDING
Sandboarding down the giant desert dunes is growing in popularity at Huacachina and
around Nazca, on Peru's south coast. Nazca's Cerro Blanco (2078m) is the highest known
sand dune in the world. Some hotels and travel agencies offer tours in areneros (dune bug-
gies), where you are hauled to the top of the dunes, then get picked up at the bottom.
(Choose your driver carefully; some are notoriously reckless.)
