1735), resurrected via auction by a local team of brothers passionate about Trujillo. As far
as the cafe is concerned, expect excellent espresso, house-made desserts and tasty pizzas
and sandwiches, often sourced organically, that go down brilliantly in the airy courtyard
or in one of the several rooms lined tastefully with antique furniture. Whether you're here

(Bolívar 526; juice S2-5; 8:30am-1pm & 4-8pm Mon-Sat, 9am-1pm Sun) You can spot
this place by the near-constant lines snaking around the corner in summer as locals queue

(Pizarro 725; mains S10-45; 7:30am-11pm; ) An elegant choice with veteran
cummerbund-bound waiters who fawn over you like in the '40s, this tableclothed classic

stew of jumbo shrimp simmering in a buttery broth with hints of garlic, cumin and
oregano, and the desserts are excellent, from classic tiramisu to mile-high tres leches (a
spongy cake made with evaporated milk).

inized palettes. The menu is a predictable list of Cantonese dishes, but very long on op-

(cnr Junín & Independencia; mains S6-15, cocktails S18-22; closed Sun) This locals'
favorite shouldn't be a secret. The tall, wood-paneled walls covered in artsy posters and
the classic marble-top bar feels like a cross between an English pub and a Left Bank cafe.
