right down to the model train in the central dining area, effortlessly combining common
people's cafeteria with upscale restaurant. Go for Andean (a mondongo
especial,
a tripe,
maize and vegetable broth) or coast (Tacu Tacu, a concoction of beans, rice and chili fried
golden-brown and served with steak). It's so popular it opened an identical restaurant:
right across the street.

door, El Otro Lado is open for lunch from April to October.

This restaurant-cum-bar, housed in an antique-
filled, wood-beamed, two-story building with the obligatory Lennon and Santana posters,
brings in vociferous crowds of upscale locals bent on having roaring conversations over
the sounds of anything from
cumbia
(a salsalike Colombian musical style) to Pink Floyd.
The well-prepared bar food consists of burgers, pizzas and grills.
