Getting There & Around
Most transport to and from Lima arrives about 800m to the west of the Plaza de Armas,
near the ó valo (main roundabout) at the arched entrance to central Tarma. This is where
you'll find the forlorn (but official) terminal terrestre (bus station) with daily buses to
Lima (S20/30, six hours) at 11.30am, 1.30pm and several services between 11am and
midnight. The higher tariffs are for fully reclining seats, usually on the bottom deck. La
Merced-bound buses depart at 3pm and 6pm.

Bus companies often have their own terminals in Tarma.

3.30pm and 7pm (S10, two hours).

Huancayo (S10, three hours) via Jauja (S7, two hours) leaving almost hourly from 5am to
6pm.
Transportes Chanchamayo Offline map Google map ( 32-1882; Callao 1002 ) Has
9am, 2pm and 11pm departures to Lima (S20). A La Merced bus departs at 2.30pm.
Transportes Junín Offline map Google map ( 53-2333; Amazonas 669) Has eight daily
services to Lima (almost hourly until 1pm, then none until 11pm) including bus-camas
(bed buses) at 11:30am and also 11:45pm (S20 to S30). It also has 5:30am and 1pm depar-
tures for Cerro de Pasco (S12, two to three hours).
