Even if you normally don't do shared bathrooms, consider staying in one of the Adare
homes now functioning as a guesthouse. It's a wonderful experience. Reservations are ad-
vised, though English is limited. Many people have their guide reserve for them.

house percolates tradition and history into a comfy brew of warm welcome amid exotic
decorations. Set in the heart of the old town down a nondescript side street (it's best ap-
proached from Shoa Gate; people will point you the right way), these four spotless bed-
rooms share two bathrooms. Note that the 'honeymoon suite' (See Click here f or an ex-
planation) has no door separating it from the common lounge.

Zubeyda Cultural Guesthouse $

Rewda's sister and this operation is less friendly but virtually the same. The biggest differ-
ence is that the courtyard here is shared by another family, which makes the experience
more authentic but slightly less cosy.

900) Definitely second-tier compared to the other two despite the higher price. It's also an
old Adare home but it's far less attractive, is a guesthouse only (the owner lives nearby)
and you can't rely on reservations being honoured.

road is a solid budget choice. The odd cockroach or two aside, the rooms are cleaner, the
