US$15/20, d/tw incl breakfast US$59/85; ) This upmarket lodge staring straight at
the national park's 'Bridge of God' features comfortable Konso-inspired huts, all but a
few with views, built from stone and wood. The staff is on the ball and massages and
steam baths are available. A swimming pool is planned. It's perched between the two
towns up a very rough 1.9km road.

( 0468-812171; s/d/tw Birr350/400/440; ) With dowdy, overpriced rooms, and

Eating
Fish has long been a staple in the diet here, though overfishing means it's a lot more ex-

department.
SHECHA
Swayne's Hotel $
(mains Birr30-100) This hotel restaurant has what some consider the best Western fare in
town. Soak up the views from inside, behind the floor-to-ceiling windows, or outside
along the clifftop.

Soma Restaurant $
Offline map
(mains Birr40-120) This unassuming restaurant (now charging much higher faranji
prices) has made quite a name for itself with its mouth-watering grilled fish dishes, most
of which are big enough to share. Much of the same is available at Soma Lodge.
