The oldest hotel in Lalibela, now owned by the church, is set in a bird-
filled garden. The asking price is way too high for the tired rooms, but if you can get a big
discount, or it follows through with the promised renovation, it's an okay choice.

lags far behind its competitor in the scenery and culinary departments. Three-course set
