You'll find unexpected style at this pricey, central hotel that features some clever Ti-
grinyan decoration. All rooms have desks, fridges, satellite TV and large beds and the
suites even have hot tubs with room for two.

A bit out of town, the hilltop
perch brings limited views. The bungalows out the back are large with satellite TV and
mini-fridges and though the cheapest are a bit tired, all offer good value. The restaurant
(mains Birr28 to Birr63) is not bad either.

Though the rooms are rather dowdy, this would be a nice place to stay if it weren't for
the elevated
faranji
prices. It warrants a mention, however, because it's in an actual histor-
ic nobleman's palace, albeit one far more humble than Yohannes' palace. Also bear in
mind that just eight rooms (five with common shower) are inside the castle itself, the rest
are down below.
