Although the rooms here are as tired and worn as your favourite pair of travel socks,
there's no denying the allure of Ghion's lakeside setting (now marred by the ugly fence)
and garden full of flowers and paradise flycatchers. Rooms aren't identical and you need
to let them know if you're interested in the cheaper, smellier ones. It's easily the most
popular place for backpackers to get their heads down. The hotel offers free airport trans-
fers and generally reliable travel advice, though it doesn't always keep reservations and
drink prices aren't fixed.

brown atmosphere may not remind you of carefree summer days, this hotel is functional
and comfortable. And though the price is rather high, it won't let you down.

smartest boy at the party. Even the communal toilets don't smell! The owner is there daily
to keep everything ship shape.

Meticulous housekeepers and fair prices make this city-centre spot popular. All rooms
have satellite TV and the private showers have hot water. Unusually for Ethiopia, you
don't need to be a couple to share a double room.
