Next, you will model the handles of

9. Choose
Create > Object
from the main menu; a cascading menu is displayed. Next,
choose
Cube
from it; a cube is created in the Perspective viewport and
Cube
is added to
the Object Manager. Rename it as
Handle
.
10. In the Attribute Manager, make sure the
Object
button is chosen. In
Object Properties
area, set the parameters as follows:

11. Make sure
Handle
is selected in the Object Manager and choose the
Make Editable
tool from the Modes Palette; the
Handle
is converted into a polygonal object.
12. Choose the
Edges
tool from the Modes Palette;
Handle
is displayed in the edge mode.
In the Perspective viewport, right-click on the edges of
Handle
; a shortcut menu is dis-
played. Choose
Knife
from the shortcut menu; the
Knife
tool settings are displayed in
the Attribute Manager. In the
Options
area, make sure the
Loop
option is selected from
the
Mode
drop-down list.
13. In the
Options
area, make sure that the
Restrict to Selection
check box is cleared.
Then, click on
Handle
in the Perspective viewport and add two new horizontal edges, as
shown in Figure P1-22. Press SPACEBAR to exit the tool.
