Note
When you add the
Random
effector to the Object Manager, it is also added to the
Effectors
area of the
Cloner
object. To verify this, select the
Cloner
in the Object Manager and then
choose the
Effectors
button; the
Effectors
area is displayed. In this area, you will notice
that the
Random
effector is added.
2. Make sure
Random
is selected in the Object Manager. In the Attribute Manager, choose
the
Parameter
button; the
Parameter
area is displayed. In this area, expand the
Trans-
form
area if it is not already expanded and make sure the
Position
check box is selected.
Also, select the
Rotation
check box in the
Transform
area.
The
Position
check box is used to define whether
Random
effector will affect the position
of cloners. The
Rotation
check box is used to define whether
Random
effector will af-
fect the rotation of cloners.
3. In the
Color
area, select the
User Defined
option from the
Color Mode
drop-down list,
as shown in Figure 12-11.
The
User Defined

clones manually.

4. In the
Color
option, enter
170
in the
G
spinner and
20
in the
B
spinner; the color of the
Random
effector changes in the Perspective viewport.
Next, you will add the
Formula
effector to the scene. The
Formula
effector is used to cre-
ate complex formulae.
