The Outline Polygons option is used to add a stroke to the selected UV polygons with a
color.
9. Make sure that the polygons are selected in the Texture View and choose File > Save
Texture as from the Texture View menu; the Please choose the file format dialog box
is displayed.
10. Select the Photoshop (PSD) (*.psd) option from the Save File as drop-down list in
the Please choose the file format dialog box. Next, choose the OK button; the Save
Channel as *.psd dialog box is displayed. In the Save Channel as *.psd dialog box,
enter texturePencil in the File name text box. Next, browse to the location \Docu-
ments\c4dr16\c09 and choose the Save button; the file is saved at the specified location.
Creating the Texture of the Pencil in Adobe Photoshop
In this section, you will create texture for pencil using Adobe Photoshop.
1. Open the texturePencil.psd file in Adobe Photoshop. The file opens in the canvas area
and a layer with the name Background is displayed in the Layers panel. Double-click
on the Background layer in the Layers panel; the New Layer dialog box is displayed.
In this dialog box, choose the OK button; the Background layer is unlocked and re-
placed with Layer 0 in the Layers Panel.
2. Choose the Create a new layer button from the Layers panel; a new layer with the name
Layer 1 is created in the Layers panel.
3. Select Layer 0 from the Layers panel. Choose Magic Wand Tool from the Tool Box
and then click on the first white strip in the canvas to make a selection. Next, press and
hold SHIFT and then click on the third strip to add it to the selection. Now, select Layer
1 layer from the Layers panel.
4. Choose yellow color from the Set Foreground Color swatch in the Tool Box and then
press ALT+BACKSPACE; the selection is filled with yellow color, as shown in Figure
9-15. Next, press CTRL+D to clear the selection.
