The matCap material applied to the Wine bottle cap
Applying Texture to the Plates
In this section, you will apply texture to the plates.
1. Double-click in the empty area of the Material Manager; a new material is created in the
Material Manager.
2. Double-click on the name
Mat
in the Material Manager; a text box is displayed. In this
text box, enter
matPlates
in the
Name
text box in the
Basic Properties
area; the new
material is renamed as
matPlates
.
3. Make sure
matPlates
is selected in the Material Manager. In the Attribute Manager,
choose the
Color
button; the
Color
area is displayed. In this area, choose the browse
button located next to the
Texture
parameter; the
Open File
dialog box is displayed.
4. In this dialog box, browse to
\Documents\c4dr16\c05\plate.jpg.
Next, choose the
Open
button; the texture is displayed on the material slot.
5. In the Attribute Manager, choose the
Reflectance
button; the
Reflectance
area is dis-
played. In this area, choose the
Add
button; a flyout is displayed. Now, choose
Phong
from the flyout; a reflectance layer with the name
Layer 1
is added.
6. In the
Layer Color
area, enter
40
in the
Brightness
spinner.
Next, you will assign texture to the
Plates
.
