Taxon-Area Cladograms
Taxon-area cladograms are obtained by replacing the name of each termin-
al taxon in the cladograms of the taxa analyzed with the area where it is
distributed. For example, if a taxon (1 (2 (3, 4))) has species 1 distributed
in North America, species 2 in Africa, species 3 in South America, and
species 4 in Australia, by replacing the four species in the cladogram with
the areas where they are distributed, we obtain the taxon-area cladogram
(North America (Africa (South America, Australia))).
