or 10-30 hours above 27 C. In 2003, with a mean summer temperature 3 . 2 K higher
than usual, however, 9.4% of the office hours had room temperatures above 26 C,
which is more than 230 h or about 5 weeks. This value is just below the maximum
allowed value of 10% according to German standard DIN 4108.
The cumulated hours above a given temperature level show the direct correlation
between ambient temperatures and high internal temperatures: only in 2003 with about
100 hours above 30 C were there a few hours above 30 C within the offices, otherwise
this did not occur at all (Figure 3.7).
