shades and any natural night ventilation rates through tilted windows. If no exter-
nal shading were used, the room temperatures would be overestimated by about
5 K. Introducing a low night air exchange of 0.6 per hour reduced the temperature
difference by about 1 K. A very good agreement between measured and simulated
room temperatures was obtained when the room was shaded on average by 70%
during the day and night ventilation was at 0 . 6h 1 (see Figure 4.20). During occu-
pation of the seminar room, the air temperature could be kept at comfortable levels
below 26 C.
