Creating a file screen
To create a file screen on a folder or volume using the FSRM, right-click File Screens in the
console tree and select Create File Screen from the menu. The Create File Screen dialog box
shown in Figure 2-21 opens. In this dialog box, you specify the following:

File Screen Path
The root of the path on which you want to apply the file screen
■
Derive Properties From This File Screen Template
Select from a list of existing file
screen templates to use to define the quota
■
Define Custom File Screen Properties
Define a custom file screen with an active or
passive file screen, and notification actions

If you choose to create a custom template, use the File Screen Properties dialog box, as
shown in Figure 2-22, which enables you to specify the following:

Copy Properties From Template
Optionally choose from an existing template as
the starting point to define the file screen for this path.
■
File Screen Path
Specifies the root of the file screen path. It is unavailable when
already specified in the Create File Screen dialog box.
■
Active Screening
If specified, does not allow users to save the file type on the file
screen path specified.
■
Passive Screening
If specified, users are allowed to save the file type, but monitoring
actions such as email messages are initiated.
■
File Groups
Specifies the type of file to screen. You must select one or more types to
create a screen.
