In-Depth Information
RDC settings can be configured to disable cross-file RDC.
The threshold for RDC can be changed with the Set-DfsrConnection cmdlet.
Configure the size of DFS-R staging folders to minimize thrashing and provide efficient
replication of large files. Windows Server 2012 R2 enables staging folder size to be set
for each member server in a replication group.
Use failover clustering to provide fault tolerance of stand-alone DFS-N.
Use multiple DFS-N root targets and multiple AD DS domain controllers to provide
fault tolerance for domain-based DFS-N.
Use DFS database cloning to speed up initial replication of large DFS-R folders.
Use DFS database cloning to speed up recovery from a corrupted DFS-R database on a
member server.

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -online -PackageName DFS-N,DFS-R
B.
Install-WindowsFeature -Name FS-DFS-N,FS-DFS-R -IncludeManagementTools
C.
Add-WindowsFeature -Name DFS -IncludeAllSubFeatures
D.
You need to enable remote management of DFS from your Windows 8 workstation.

D.
Objective 2.2: Conigure File Server Resource Manager
(FSRM)
The File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) role enables folder-level quotas, file-type screen-
ing, and comprehensive reporting of file system usage. The FSRM role also allows you to
define a subset of files on a server and then schedule a task to apply simple commands to
that subset of files.
