At this point, you should have a better sense of indexes and the procedure for changing
them with the
ALTER TABLE
statement. The order in which you make changes to in-
dexes and the columns on which they are based matters. Why it matters should be clear
now. So that you can get more practice with these concepts and syntax, though, in one of
the exercises at the end of the chapter you will be asked to change some columns and in-
dexes. Be sure to complete all of theexercises.
