( 0211-230617; marbleinn.lusaka@gmail.com; Makanta Cl; r ZMW260; ) This low-
slung building, similar to an American roadside motel, has good-sized, simply decorated,
clean rooms. Other than parking, there's not much in the way of amenities, and although
it's down a quiet suburban-like street, noise from the next-door backpackers is potentially
an issue.

this longest-standing of Lusaka hotels has a surprisingly serene entry set back from the
road, with the sound (and sight) of water trickling through a lush little swamp as you ap-
proach reception. The respite ends there, however, and a consistent flow of people means
service is lacklustre and impersonal.
Other than old photos and paintings along the main stairway, there's little character or
attention in the rooms, which feel institutional and in need of some dramatic upkeep or
complete renovation.

without bathroom ZMW250/150) Formerly Kuomboka Backpackers, this labyrinthine
place has plain but serviceable private rooms and darkened dorms with low ceilings; each
of the three has ten beds. A small bar area and pool table are about all that's available in
terms of public space. Meals can be provided.

room ZMW150; ) A budget option in a city without many. Rooms are very basic and
existing rooms are in need of attention; construction to add several more in the back was
ongoing at the time of our visit. The bar and lounge area in the front were more inviting.
