between a superior room with an aerial view or one of the brick-red chalets in gardens of

charmless with lacklustre staff. Rooms have cold-water showers, stone floors and are
equally lukewarm, but just about adequate for a cheap night. There are lovely gardens at
the back of the property though, which make a nice sundowner spot, and the restaurant
serves tasty portions of grilled meats.

There are plenty of cheap hole-in-the-wall places around the bus station where you can
pick up plates of chicken and nshima or chips for around MK400.

) Set inside or outside under an awning this popular roadside expat hangout is a
real sanctuary, with an Afro diner feel to its fuschia-muralled interior. Enjoy a menu span-
ning pizzas, burgers, various curries, chambo and chips, ice cream and brownie and vari-
ous delicious cakes. The large dining room has a notice board with information about the
local area and beyond.

Domino's is fun for lunch, dinner or sundowners, thanks to its lushly gardened outside
patio and excellent wood-fired pizzas, chambo, steak and fries.
