Book Pemba accommodation in advance if travelling during the December/January and
South African Easter school holidays.
TOWN CENTRE
Central Pemba has slim accommodation offerings. For most travellers it's only worth con-
sidering staying in town if you can't find anything at Wimbi Beach or if you have an early
morning bus.

1000/1100/1500) This ageing hotel on the main street is well past its prime, although the
central location (diagonally opposite Mcel) is convenient. The faded rooms come with
bathroom (though not always with water) and fan (though not always with electricity).
There's no food.

behind the airport in an excellent setting on the bay, and about 3km off the main road
down an unpaved track.
