Strolling around Inhambane's quiet traffic-free streets comes as a surprise treat if you've
been frequenting some of Mozambique's other urban areas. The
Cathedral of Nossa Sen-
of the jetty. North of here, reached by following the waterfront road, is the small
old
blocks further east. Don't miss strolling along the
waterfront
at sunset, and watching the
sun sink into the flamingo-frequented Inhambane Bay.
Also recommended is the tiny
museum
(Avenida da Vigilância; admission free, dona-
tions welcome; 9am-5pm Tue-Fri, 2-5pm Sat & Sun)
near the new mosque. Its displays
include collections of traditional musical instruments, clothing and household items from
the surrounding area, with some captions in English.
