» Government offices From 8am or 9am to 4pm or 5pm Monday to Friday, with an hour
for lunch somewhere between noon and 2pm.
» Shops Keep the same hours as government offices but are also open Saturday.
» Supermarkets Normally open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm
Saturday and 9am to 1pm Sunday; some are open 8am to 10pm daily at the big shopping
centres in Lusaka.
» Banks Operate weekdays from 8am to 3.30pm (or 5pm), and from 8am to 11am (or
noon) on Saturday.
» Post offices From 8am or 9am to 4pm or 4.30pm weekdays.
» Restaurants Normally open for lunch between 11.30am and 2.30pm and dinner
between 6pm and 10.30pm.
» Bar-restaurants Can only sell alcohol until 11pm, but often stay open later on Friday
and Saturday nights in Lusaka.
