CHURCH
Niamkolo Church
Check out Niamkolo Church, a five-minute walk up the hill from Nkupi Lodge. It's an old
stone ruin that you can walk inside and around. It was built in 1895 and 1896 by the Lon-
don Missionary Society, who had arrived in the town some ten years earlier to establish a
mission. It was abandoned in 1908 when the missionaries all got sleeping sickness and
moved away from the lakeshore.
