National Park in the far northeast, overland travel to the Bangweulu Wetlands or transfers into North Luangwa
National Park from Shiwa Ng'andu or Mpika.

Serenje. Opening out onto the leafy courtyard are a number of bright, homy rooms with
fans and spotless bathrooms. The attached restaurant (meals ZMW15 to ZMW25) has a
patio overlooking the street and serves tasty staples.
Siga Siga Resthouse $
( 0215-382362; d with shared bathroom ZMW60) This is a useful option for bus travel
as it's right by the junction with the Great North Road. Rooms here are pretty basic and
share passable bathrooms; on the plus side there are a couple of reasonable places to eat
nearby, including the Siga Siga Restaurant and (are you seeing the pattern here?) the Siga
Siga Supermarket.
GUESTHOUSE
Getting There & Away
All buses between Lusaka (ZMW80, five hours) and Kasama (ZMW90, five hours) pass
through Serenje. Most of the big buses stop beside the petrol station at the junction with
the Great North Road, while minibuses stop in town.
