Leon's Lodge $$
( 0978 666008; r ZMW180-200, chalet ZMW250-350) Despite the two enormous stone
carved lions out front, Leon's, just off the main street (clearly signposted), is welcoming
rather than grandiose. The rooms are clean and large, with satellite TV and fridge, and the
thatch-roofed chalets are a step up in luxury. There's a small bar and restaurant on-site and
a tiny outdoor circular bar area.
LODGE
Gwembe Safari Lodge $$
( 0213-220169; www.gwembesafaris.com ; campsite per person ZMW30, s/d without
bathroom incl breakfast ZMW180/260) There's a lovely shaded area at this lodge, com-
plete with thick grass, tables and chairs and a braai. When tour groups aren't around, the
large camping area and clean chalets make a peaceful place for the night. The lodge is
signposted 1km southwest of town and is a further 2km north off the tar road.

Kozo Lodge & Lituwa Fast Foods $$
( 0977 619665; www.kozolodge.co.zm ; s/d ZMW200/300) About 7km south of Choma
this large fast-food outlet (mains ZMW15 to ZMW35), designed as a stop for tour groups,
does lots of chicken combinations including its speciality, kozo (smoked) chicken. Loud
pop music blares outside or you can enjoy a real coffee indoors. Around back is Kozo
Lodge, which has chalets with fridges, fans and somewhat limited satellite TV, but being
this far south of town, they are quiet and convenient for getting on the road the next morn-
ing; deluxe versions come with Jacuzzi.
