In-Depth Information
John and Carol Coppinger are gracious and extremely informative hosts. Besides the usual
driving and walking safaris, you can also cycle through the park or to the nearby village of
Mkasanga, where nearly a third of the adults are employed by Remote Africa. And to get
an exciting and new perspective on things, get strapped into the microlight, basically a
hanglider with a motor, for a truly bird's-eye view.

( www.robinpopesafaris.net ; per person all-inclusive US$540; year-round; ) A
long-standing, classic Luangwa lodge, Nkwali has just six small cottages with delightful
open-air bathrooms. They're all very comfortable but with no unnecessary frills, which
gives a feel of the bush - rustic but also quite classy. If you're after privacy the two-bed-
room Safari House has traditional African decor and a private guide, hostess and chef!
The bar-restaurant, built around an ebony tree, overlooks the river and a small water hole
that attracts wildlife right into the camp. It is located in the Lupande GMA overlooking
the park, incorporating acacia and ebony woods, making it a favourite spot for elephants
and giraffes. Walking safaris are conducted throughout the year.
