2/Getting the
Software
The brains of the FLORA platform are controlled by custom
code that you upload to the board over USB ( Figure 2-1 ). In
order to get this code onto the board, you will need to use a
custom-made version of the Arduino integrated development
environment (IDE) that comes preloaded with FLORA drivers,
libraries, and code examples. The Arduino IDE allows you to
write, edit, and upload code to your FLORA board with a simple
click of a button. Best of all, the Arduino IDE is free to download.
The customized version for FLORA is available for Windows,
Mac OS X, and Linux.
