Beijing is a hard place to get your head around in just a few days. It's a vast, often indistinct
city, and no single place wholly defines what it's like to live and work in. Lacking a harbor
or the like, it has no single major social center. Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City
are literally the center of the city, but there is a dearth of entertainment around them, and
once you're done being a tourist, for most there are few reasons to go near them.
