Shopping options in the Shunyi/northeast Chaoyang area constantly growing, and the nice
thing about the options here is that there are a lot of artisans, people selling homegrown
produce or artwork. You'll also find well-stocked international supermarkets catering to the
local expat community.
Some of the most obvious places to shop include Euro Plaza on Tianbei Lu and Pinnacle
Plaza around the corner on Xinyuan Yi Lu. Euro Plaza ( www.bjeuroplaza.com ) is your typ-
ical shopping mall, with fashion retailers, restaurants, and homeware. You'll find brands
like Tupperware, Torana Clean Air, Costa Coffee, McDonald's, and KFC. Pinnacle Plaza
has more of a village feel. Organic grocer Lohao City ( www.lohaocity.com ) is here, along
with Starbucks, international supermarket Jenny Wang's ( www.jennyshop.com.cn ), and
Beijing United Family's Shunyi dental and medical clinics. Just down the street at the
gate of Capital Paradise, you can also shop for Western groceries at April Gourmet. If
you'd rather get your groceries fresh from the farm, Beijing Farmers' Market is a regular
activity in the area, typically held on the grounds of Daystar Academy. Across the river
on Chaoyang side, De Run Wu Organic and Natural Store (tel. [phone], jiyunli-
[e-mail] ) , run by a group of Buddhist farmers, sells food that they produce as or-
ganically as possible. They're on Shunhuang Lu near the BD Flower Market (look for the
sign that says Danshui town) but also do scheduled home deliveries.
