In-Depth Information
ies. There is a wide variety of home styles and decoration here, so do look around at sev-
eral properties even within the one complex. The design tastes of landlords can swing from
nonexistent to garish to elegant. Many homes have three or four levels, and generous back-
yards, some are semi-detached and others freestanding. If forking out for an entire villa isn't
in your or your company's budget, some of the communities, such as Capital Paradise and
Yosemite, have apartment complexes as well as villas. These are considerably cheaper than
the villas and still reasonably spacious with three or four bedrooms. Don't forget to look
into the facilities each compound provides for its residents as well. Gyms are just the start
of what may be on offer. Spas, bike tracks, lakes, playground equipment, dog parks, and
private or public swimming pools are just some of the built-in extras that some compounds
have added to increase their attractiveness.
It's handy for you or your ā (housekeeper) to be able to walk to your children's school
to pick them up, especially as many schools require children to be picked up by a known
or pre-arranged person in the afternoon. Nearly all international schools, however, have
private bus services that can instead drop your child directly at home, wherever you live.
So if you do happen to find a community that you like but which is not near your child's
school, it shouldn't be a problem.
Like most other housing communities in Shunyi and northeastern Chaoyang, Yosemite offers
families multistory houses in safe and pleasant surrounds.
