Don't stop just at these venues, however; other places promise you a genuine escape
from the crowds and the city. Take a day trip out into the mountains in northwest Haidian,
hiking around such places as Yangtai Mountain, Dajue Temple in Jiufeng National Forest
Park, or the peaceful Fenghuangling Mountain. They are far less touristy than the above-
mentioned parks, and you may actually find yourself out here alone or with only the occa-
sional passerby. Though seemingly a little out of reach, they can be surprisingly easy to get
to with the right bus.
