with their Olympic-sized range of sports goods. The goods in these stores are also predom-
inantly genuine.
Toys
New China Children's Store on Wangfujing Jie was once the major place to shop for
toys, but now there are many other choices. A mainstay is Tianle Toy Market, just behind
Hongqiao market near Tiantan Dongmen (Line 5). This a good choice if you just want
something cheap, or a lifetime supply of colorful stickers, but if you're worried about tiny
pieces breaking off and getting into the mouth of your little one, then it might be wise to
seek other toy vendors. You'll be impressed by the gargantuan Beijing International Toys
City, which is the largest wholesale and retail toy store in northern China, and conveniently
located just west of Liujiayao subway station (Line 5). ToysRus (
