conclusions
As said before, currently 10 organizations par-
ticipated on this phase, with different sizes and
industries as shown in Figures 10 and 11.

Knowledge of tools and frameworks of IT
Governance.
The first item that is discovered is regarding the
status of IT in the organizations, and the problems
they have. The figure shows that the main problem
is focused on the relationship with suppliers and
outsourcing, followed by agility problems (in
developing new functionalities on the companies).
Also, other problems to be considered are related
to staff (insufficient or with a lack of IT skills), and
IT service delivery problems. It is also important
to remark the different problems existing with
archiving/back-up (Figure 12).
In general, problems are remaining with the
same importance that they had on the last year,
and the situation has been stable.
The companies were asked to evaluate (in a
scale of 1-5) the efficiency of high level actions
that could help to solve these problems. The aver-
age of the efficiency is shown in the Figure 13:
The problems the companies are facing are
regarding outsourcing, but there is also important
The questionnaire was defined considering the
first questionnaire and the different conclusions
obtained on the first phase, but also questionnaires
and information associated to the different Global
Status Reports of IT Governance (ITGovernan-
ceInstitute 2004; ITGovernanceInstitute 2006;
ITGovernanceInstitute 2008b). This information
gave the authors ideas about the structure and
questions that should be included on the second
questionnaire. Finally, were taken into consid-
eration the different questionnaires included on
Calder-Moir framework for both the board and
the managing team.
The questionnaire has been pre-tested on 4
small and medium organizations. And the inter-
view process is on going, and 6 new organiza-
tions have been participated so far, including a
big company.
