news to public, which will make them visible in
the web portal. In the case the user does not have
validation permissions, the news will be added, but
they will not be visible by the non-administrator
users until somebody validates the data.
Besides the usual information concerning
the new, news editors have the option to put the
starting date and the final date of the new. When
this data is filled, the framework will automati-
cally show or hide this new for the usual users,
although editors will be able to see it.
While a typical user will see the logo of the
new, the title, date of the new and description,
an administrator will be also able to see the date
of beginning and end of the new, its status, and a
link to modify it.
With this system, INOVA intends to provide
users with an easy way to access to relevant
news in the fields of innovation, optimization,
and valorization.
In the system appear two type of news:
are registered, they would also be able to access
to more information about the specific document
they are interested in, included information about
the source and the original document, either
linked, or downloadable in PDF format. Besides,
an administrator user with edition privileges over
documents, could also access to the edition page
of the document directly from it.
With this system, users have access to a high
quantity of data related with specific themes in a
centralized way. This facilitates considerably the
search of these publications, without having to look
for the source of them, and saving a lot of time.
Financing Management System
As a complementary application, it was decided to
create a software solution to provide the INOVA
clients and users in general a way of efficiently
searching for financial funding of their interest in
the fields of R&D and optimization.
The software application provides a search
engine to look for the exact needs of the enterprise,
and provides a list of possible financing solutions.
Following the same idea than the publication
management system, it provides different level
of access depending on the type of user using
the search application. In the case of anonymous
users, they could see the list of possible financ-
ing subventions. A registered user could see the
detailed information of the subventions, while
editors could edit this information in case they
consider it necessary.
Like in the publications system, this application
saves huge amounts of time, since a user just has
to use the search engine to access to a list of all
the possible financial funding they can apply for.
INOVA news. Data that are related with
the INOVA work and with the company, in
one way or another.
Interesting news. News that could be of in-
terest for the general public, in the fields in
which INOVA work.
Publications Management System
INOVA wanted to store documents and links to
articles published in different formats and types
of publications. To do so, we created a database
which stored a wide range of metadata about
these articles.
The quantity of publications is quite extensive.
Therefore, we have developed a search engine to
look for that data, based on the type of sources of
those documents, and the keywords related with
them (Figure 3).
This search engine is accessible to any user, but
just partially: an anonymous user can have access
to the search engine, and receive a list of results,
with a small amount of information. If the users
Technological Agents Management System
Another software utility we try to provide our
customers is a technological agents management
system. We call technological agents to compa-
nies who can offer some product or solutions in
a specific field.
