wouldn't be spending my life trying to prove to myself that I am some-

Brooke and Dillon into the world, and for that I am thankful.

I have a mild case of frostbite in my right index finger, which aches a
little more than the other fingers; my nose and lips are blistered; my
feet are finding it hard to adapt to the snowshoes, and consequently I
have blisters on my right foot, and my left heel is severely cracked and
painful. Yet I am more worried about my snowshoes breaking than my
body.
Tonight, I burned the arm of my fleece on the gas stove while try-
ing to get dressed in our cramped tent. Many of the children I met in
Egypt had been burned by similar gas stoves, which they use to cook
and boil water with. Sometimes, nine people were living in a tin shed
only three times the size of our tent.
All I can say is that this is way harder than I thought it was going to
