Today marks 10 months since I began my journey in the North Pole. It
is hard to believe that I am so close to the finish after only 10 months.
When I first started this journey the world seemed such a big place, so
many countries to cover, so many mountains to climb, so many kilo-
metres to run. But, in a relatively short space of time, I've managed to
traverse almost the full length of this planet. Every morning before I
start I study the map and measure and re-measure the distance to the
finish. All I can think about now is the end.

The terrain in this part of Argentina consists of windswept plains, and
hills covered in brown grass. There's still plenty of wildlife, including
guanacos, armadillos, rheas and skunks, the last of which I'm giving a
wide berth. At times, the sky has seemed full of birds.
We met back up with the coast when we arrived in Puerto San
