sleeping on a block of ice. I'm grateful that I have such a wonderful
support team, and the film footage the guys have been shooting is
spectacular.
The Narellan Rotary Club has bid $2500 for my sled, which is great
news. Hopefully, other organisations will try to outdo them. Whoever
wins will have a sled that has been dragged through some of the most
dangerous and beautiful terrain on earth; best of all, the money will go
to those without clean water.
We will be in Canada for another week and then enter the United
States. I think of milestones such as borders, or the end of months, or
500, 1000 or 2000 kilometres covered, as mental goals and feel a sense
of achievement as I achieve each one.

There was an article about my run in the Sydney Morning Herald ,
which is great for publicity. Every day, I'm inspired and sustained by
messages of support. It's a treat to put my tired feet up at the end of a
day's run and read the emails, texts and Twitter and Facebook posts.
Here are some that I've received over the past day or two:
Kwe kwe ['hello' in the Algonquin language] we met briefly on
Hwy 117 May 29th, you are an awesome inspiration, spoke to
one of your staff n just wanted to offer some words of encour-
agement, and hope you enjoy the rest of Algonquin territory as
you run thru Verendrye parc, safe travels, may good spirits guide
you, we pray for not only health n success, but for this great man
we know as Pat Farmer . . . madjibiton [run]!!!!
