In-Depth Information
Boating draws many visitors to the state.
The
Namekagon-St. Croix National Scenic Riverway
stretcheswestfromnortheastof
Cable, joins the St. Croix River and its smashing geology, and eventually flows to the con-
fluence with the Mississippi River.
Kayakers enjoy the superb
Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
along Lake Superior
and, to a lesser extent, the magnificence of Door County on the Lake Michigan side.
Believe it or not, forlorn, wintry Wisconsin has one of the nation's highest concentrations
of golf courses per capita. Go figure. Nearly 430 courses are listed in the state's
Wisconsin
Golf Guide.
Among the courses most often pursued are
Blackwolf Run
in Kohler,
Lawso-
nia
in Green Lake,
Sentryworld
in Stevens Point,
University Ridge
in Madison, and
Brown Deer Golf Course
near Milwaukee.
