The second-largest municipal forest in the United States,
Superior Municipal Forest
spreads across the western fringes of Superior. Easily accessible via Billings Drive, which
parallels the St. Louis River, or Wyoming Avenue off 28th Street, or even Tower Avenue
heading south, the 4,500-acre spread includes 28 kilometers of hiking/ski/mountain-bike
trails.

The best part of the trail is just east of Superior at Wisconsin Point. The trail is a major link
to a handful of other trails in Douglas, Bayfield, and Ashland Counties.
