The M Riverstone (219 N. Railroad St., 715/479-8467, dinner daily, brunch Sun., $6 and
up) takes you back to logrolling days with its 1880s oak back bar and vintage ceilings and
floors.Thenitlurchesyouforwardintothepresentwithastate-of-the-artexhibitionkitchen
and awards for its wine cellar and cuisine, which it precisely describes as from comfort to
creative.
Jump back in time, but in a much more lighthearted way, at the fab M Soda Pop's (125
S. Railroad St., 715/479-9424, lunch and dinner daily, $4-9), where you've never tasted
such delicious bygone-days “fast food” (that's a positive, by the way) sandwiches and, bet-
ter, about 200 varieties of soda pop. The original 1800s interiors were redone well enough
to win an award from the state of Wisconsin.
For something more modern, you'll love the Wicked Grill (5009 WIS 70W, 715/
479-4646, lunch and dinner daily), with nouveau twists on burgers, steaks (crab-stuffed),
and even pickles (fried).
