The city has a balanced system of rural trails, including the great
Ledge Lookout Ride,

miles on the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago along the Niagara Escarpment. Better yet is
the
Wild Goose State Trail,
of which Fond du Lac is the northern terminus. The screened
limestone trail stretches 34 miles south to the Horicon National Marsh, the city of Horicon,
and beyond. A trail pass ($4), which can be acquired at bike shops and some trailheads, is
necessary.
