Eldorado Marsh
Just a few miles west of Fond du Lac along WIS 23 and Highway C is an unknown ca-
noeists'paradise,the6,000-acre Eldorado Marsh, whichsubsumesthe1,500-acreshallow
flowage marsh. Locals refer to it as the “Everglades of the North.” I'm not sure about that,
but it is a tranquil, solitary spot.
FESTIVALS AND EVENTS
Though it might get some argument from Port Washington to the southeast, Fond du
Lac purports to hold the world's largest fish fry in June. More than 5,000 fish dinners
and sandwiches are generally consumed in one gluttonous three-day Walleye Weekend
