Oshkosh Public Museum
In a grand 1907 English-style home, the Oshkosh Public Museum (1331 Algoma Blvd.,
920/236-5799, 10am-4:30pm Tues.-Sat., 1pm-4:30pm Sun., free) is one of the best public
museums you'll see in a town of Oshkosh's size. Permanent holdings range in subject from
local and natural history, china, and pressed glass to Native American ethnology and ar-
chaeology. One highlight is an eight-foot-tall Apostles Clock designed and built in the late
1800s by a German immigrant; it's considered one of Wisconsin's most treasured pieces of
folk art.
